Suzanne Thomas is a healthcare consultant with over 20 years of professional healthcare experience. Suzanne began her career as a court reporter specializing in medical malpractice. She then transitioned to healthcare, specializing in health information management, with experience in both management and information technology.
Suzanne has assisted with the implementation of over forty healthcare systems on Cerner, including Cerner Model and Cerner CommunityWorks. Her expertise is the design and build of future state electronic health record workflow, both acute care and ambulatory, system testing and integrated testing, training, implementation, and post go-live support. She has also participated in optimization of Cerner systems. Her expertise also includes clinical documentation, deficiency management, and release of information. Suzanne also specializes in patient portal design as well as interoperability with state health information exchanges. She assists healthcare systems with regulatory compliance, most currently with The Cures Act.
Suzanne has consulted with academic institutions as well as rural healthcare systems, including University of Southern California, Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, University of California, Los Angeles, Adventist Health, Ascension, Logansport Memorial in Logansport, IN, Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY and Regional West in Scottsbluff, NE. She has served as a Cerner subject matter expert for 3M. Suzanne is a member of HIMSS and has served as Secretary for the Arkansas Chapter of HIMSS.
